Dueling Memes : Left vs Right on 2nd Amendment

Saving children or fighting guns? The 2nd Amendment gets two memes worth noting

Someone posted a meme on Facebook that caught our attention, so we decided to scour the web for its origin.

We couldn't find the place where it started but we did find another version which is pro 2nd Amendment. Now, there's a creative situation. Someone decided to duplicate a meme, except point out the other side of the issue. Or, perhaps it was the same meme creator who just wanted to captivate both the anti-gun folks and the 2nd Amendment folks.

SAVE_CHILDREN

This version included a "fact check" link, where the first one didn't reference anything. We followed the fact check line and found this interesting article from "The Hill" which does some interesting journalism.

But we still weren't satisfied. We searched again for some more clarifying data. Unfortunately Google has pretty much cleansed or shadow-banned any content which supports the 2nd Amendment, so we turned to Duck/Duck and found Mass Shootings Facts and Fiction from the USCCA.

When researching such information it is incredibly difficult to find just the facts. Everyone has their own agenda and tends to try and hid the facts. All we wanted was a simple set of data which would tell us how many children are saved by a good man with a gun compared to how many children are killed by a bad man with a gun. But nobody keeps the 'good' data -- only the bad.

This meme is available for you to share on your favorite social media, just right-click the image and save, or right-click and copy the image link to paste. As far as we know all three images are copyright free, and in the public domain because no attribution has been given anywhere that we could find.

66% of deaths using a gun in the U.S. are suicides. 80% of murders, (homicides) using a gun are directly related to drugs or gangs, or both.

And that’s today’s Teachable Moment to remember when you see or hear someone blaming guns, or the NRA for killing people.
